On the product side,
And, there are many more fabulous foods all raised, caught or produced by local artisans, farmers, fishermen, ranchers, beekeepers, and other small companies. We have a passion for great food and are committed to bringing you some of the best from across the country.
Just as important as offering great regional foods, we tell our merchant’s story. This is the story about the people behind the product – how they got started, the special care they put into growing or making their products, the awards they’ve won, and other interesting tidbits about themselves, their products and their company.
Here are examples of what you’ll find:
Utah’s Beehive Cheese Company’s, Tim Welsh and Pat Ford, left the fast-paced world of software and real estate seeking a more simple way of life as artisan cheesemakers. They traded in their grinding traffic commute for quiet mornings sitting with 500 gallons of farm-fresh milk. Their award winning, and labor intensive, Barely Buzzed cheese is hand-rubbed with a blend of lavender and espresso coffee.
Jodi Spindel of California’s Spindel Farm got the concept for her company right in her own backyard. Thanks to her prolific pomegranate trees and her love for cooking, she was inspired to create Simply Outrageous Pomegranate Vinegar. It’s also an award winner.
The ranchers at Montana's La Cense Beef, growers of 100% grass-fed beef, strive to create a stress-free environment for the cattle. (Less stress is even advantageous for bovines!) Their Black Angus graze on open pastures on the tips of tall grass, Mother Nature’s natural food for cattle. Their beef offers a truer, cleaner, more complex beef flavor that’s also particularly tender.
Tom and Stephanie’s love of beekeeping started out as a hobby, and has grown into a full-fledged business. Their Wisconsin Bee-Pure Honey Company is a reflection of hard work and effort and true dedication. In the spring, they are out many nights until midnight feeding bees and splitting hives.
Gregg Charbonneau and Barth Anderson of Massachusetts’ Barrington Coffee Roasting Company are coffee fanatics. Their passion is to discover the finest and most exciting coffees from around the world. They applaud their coffee growers by paying dearly for the fruits of their labor. They believe that directly supporting quality driven producers is the ideal manner in which to promote sound, responsible growing practices, economic sustainability, and ultimately the best quality coffee.
